LSIS STUDENTS STARGAZING & STAR MAPPING ACTIVITY

A total of 21 first year students went to the PAGASA Astronomical Observatory at U.P. Diliman, Quezon City last January 20, 2012. As integrated in their science subject, the livingstoneans enjoyed stargazing and star mapping using the State of the Art Computer-Based 45 cm Reflector-Type Telescope. They were awed in naming and locating different constellations and the stars that composed them. As guided by Teacher Mark Dimabuyu, SAC Dennis Modesto and HS APC Anne Valencia, the students saw the planets Jupiter and Venus, stars namely Sirius, Betellgeuse, Pollax and Castor, constellations namely Gemini, Canis Majora, Canis Minor, Cassioneia and Summer Triangle Orion.
